Caps-Thrashers Viewing Party

It is a true testament to my disorganized ineptitude that, in spite of the fact that this was my idea and I have been largely involved in trying to get it organized (with much help from CapsChick), Eric over at Off Wing Opinion still managed to beat me to it. I hope everyone else finds that as hilarious as I do. Moving on...

I am a big fan of meeting other bloggers. I've done it before on a few occasions, and it has never resulted in anything other than unending hilarity. And drunkeness. Bloggers like to drink, apparently.

So it is with that in mind that I extend this formal invitation to any of you Caps bloggers who would care to join me this Friday to watch the Capitals on the road against their heated rivals the Atlanta Thrashers. As of the writing of this entry, the actual location of such a gathering is still somewhat up in the air. I have a place in mind but there might be a band playing during the game, which is problematic. I'm shooting for a bar somewhere around U Street or Chinatown. But rest assured I will come up with something soon. Just, you know, make sure you're schedule is clear Friday night. And check back here. (Also, if you have any suggestions as far as a particular place you think might be a nice place to meet, send them along to the newly minted kevinhatcherfanclub (at) gmail (dot) com)

Sorry dude, I've got a Christmas Party I am required to attend on Friday night. Thanks for putting it together though.

BTW, I plan to have that Caps commercial you wanted up on You Tube in the next couple of days.

Well, if you hadn't gone and lost your spare ID I might've had a chance, but O well.

Plus, I have an exam the next morning, so I suppose it's all for the best that I not be trying to sneak into bars and wasting all my money.

I'd love to attend, but have plans with the family on Friday.

May I suggest another gathering after the holidays when schedules are less busy and those of us with kids can make arrangements to attend?

Cheers!

This is a great idea. I should be available, but I'm not 100% sure yet. Either way, let us know the location and I'll see what I can do.

On another note, I think gustaffsson has the right idea- after the holidays might work better, especially from a planning perspective.

Fear not, we're definitely going to do this again in January. I might even try to make it a monthly thing. This one was borne mostly of my desire not to watch the Atlanta game by myself.

So what are we looking at - 4 or 5 so far who can make it? Not bad for a start, but I think your idea for a monthly get-together will be a good way for all of us to meet eventually.

As much as I would love to, I get off work 30 minutes before face-off, and that's simply not enough time to get downtown during Rush hour. Shoot, that's barely enough time to get to the Metro Station
